Chalcedony

Chalcedony is a sturdy gemstone good for all jewelry styles and requires no special care when wearing or cleaning. This stone has been worn for 75,000 years in its various forms. In the past 4500 years chalcedony began to be carved into finely-detailed seals, scarabs and beads. This translucent material ranges from blue and gray to orange and red - with the most sought after colors being blue and purple. Agates and Chalcedony are found in many parts of the world but the most prized are from India, Madagascar, Burma, Brazil, Mexico and the United States.

We will always be in search of new Chalcedony because of its beautiful translucent colors. Currently we feature Gem Chrysocolla from Globe,Arizona and Holly Blue Agate from Sweet Home, Oregon. Neither stone is color enhanced - colors are natural - from the earth. Both sources mined the rough stone over thirty years ago - there is no current mining - this material is extremely rare and extraordinary.
